China is the Largest Development Partner of Bangladesh
On the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh Victory Day, China-Bangladesh Friendship Center-CBFC organized a webinar titled “Golden Jubilee of Victory and China’s Contribution in Building Modern Bangladesh.” The speakers made such remarks while returning to the Webinar held on Saturday, December 18, from 11 am to 12.30 pm Bangladesh time.
The chief guest of the Webinar was the Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mr. Tajul Islam MP. Former Minister and Political Analyst Mr. Golam Sarwar Milon was the Special Guest. The Webinar was presided over by the Senior Vice Chairman of CBFC, Mr. Guo Pei Lin Peter, and welcomed by Executive Director of CBFCL Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu.
The program started with the performance of national anthems of Bangladesh and China by Mr. Shariful Islam, Director of Social Welfare, CBFC. After that, the executive director of CBFC, Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu, delivered his welcome speech. He then took over
the anchoring and requested Professor Abul H M G Azam of North South University, Bangladesh, to present the Keynote article of the
Webinar. Professor Dr. Azam successfully gave the historical context of China-Bangladesh trade and social relations.
Special speaker, Legal Economist M.S Siddiqui, spoke about the pre-independence visit of Bangabandhu to China and the steel-solid China-Bangladesh friendship paradigm formed through cooperation after independence.
Rotarian Golam Mustafa, a heroic freedom fighter, reminisced about the days of the Liberation War. He wondered how the independence of Golden Bengal came in response to Bangabandhu’s call, how China is cooperating with the government of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, in building a modern Bangladesh.
Former Minister and Political Analyst Mr. Golam Sarwar, the special guest of the Webinar, has repeatedly raised the issue of “China is Bangladesh’s largest development partner.” The chief guest of the Webinar – Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mr. Tajul Islam MP, regrets not connecting to Webinar in time as he is in the remote area for extraordinary government work.
Through the participation of representatives of various associations of China and Bangladesh, the Webinar became a reunion fair of China and Bangladesh. Chinese Enterprises Association of Bangladesh (CEAB) President Mr. K Changliang, ABCA Organizing Secretary Dr. Nazmuz-Sakib, BCYSA President Mr. Maruf Hasan, BAHK General Secretary Mr. Ashfaqur Rahman Palash, and others. Diplomats from the Chinese Embassy and the Bangladesh Embassy also participated in it.
Meanwhile, China-Bangladesh Friendship Center Limited-CBFCL organized a quiz competition on the golden jubilee of Bangladesh Victory Day. CBFC Assistant Director Moin Uddin Helaly announced the winners through a digital lottery.
Rotarian Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Chairman of the Committee for Celebrating the Victory Day of Bangladesh and Vice Chairman of CBFC, thanked everyone for attending the event and delivered a particular address. Finally, Webinar President and CBFC’s Senior Vice Chairman Guo Pei Lynn Peter delivered the President’s closing remarks and announced the Webinar’s conclusion.
